Soldering Instruction
Thoroughly clean and remove oil and other contaminants from the parts to be soldered.
Use only small amounts of solder. Excess solder can cause a short circuit.
Slide the soldering iron switch to the ON position. Press and hold the power button. LED will illuminate indicating that the iron is on.
Allow the tip to reach working temperature (about 8 seconds). Apply a small amount of solder to tapered surface of tip. Remove excess solder with a damp soft rag or damp sponge.
Tin wires by heating the bare wire and allowing a small amount of solder to flow onto the tip of the wire.
Touch the tapered surface of the tip (not the point) to the joint to be soldered. Heat joint and allow heat from joint to melt solder.
Allow a small amount of solder to flow into the joint.
To ensure a strong joint, do not touch or move the joint until it has cooled completely.
